Some Thoughts

Have been watching documentary on the SCV these few days. . Had always liked watching documentary in particularly those on animals since i was very young. . Probably influenced by my Father, who always tune to such programmes to watch. .
However. . It is more than general knowledge which got into me while i was watching the animal documentaries over the past few days. . Sentimental. . Sadness. . Sorrow. . I was overwhelmed with such emotions while watching the programmes. .
There was one scene where it filmed on one young monkey called Limpet which had lost its mother no long after it was born . . The mother of Limpet had used to occupy some respectable position in the monkey's tribe and despite her death, its only offspring was able to enjoy the high status enjoyed by its mother. . While feeding, it is granted special priority to feed first while the rest has to wait, with the chief monkey monitoring closely, attacking any defying the 'tradition'. . And surprising, Limpet managed to get itself a nanny after its mother's death. . which breastfed the youngster and look after its well being. . Despite being in such a situation where it should be considered as 'fortunate'. . Limpet was a sensible and intelligent . .at least for its age. . It knew how to do lots of things, which i thought was incredible. . once again . .at least for its age. .-at barely 2months old. . this little monkey knows how to search for its own food. . shellfish. . which it dig them out from the seashore while the tide is low. . this may not sounds amazing. . but when you really see it(hope you got a chance, tune in to Animal Planet). . a remarkable feat. .
Then came the sad part. . 2 weeks after the filming. . Limpet was found dead. . Feeling sorta sad, sympathetic . . My heart was crying. . A pity that this cute, intelligent, sensible little monkey had to die so early. . Limpet was not fortunate afterall. . Having overcoming the odds to survive without its monkey, it still can't escape the fate that it had to die so young. . Sometimes really thinks that heaven is playing a joke on us. . Allow us to survive one ordeal in one minute and wanted us to suffer the next. .

In another scene. . Show cast on this man who work to save younger orphan wild animals or breed endangered animals. . There was this eagle named Queen(can't recall its species, but it supposed to be the most dangerous eagle in the world) which he came across. . It was trying to fertilise its egg which after some examination, was found to be sterile. . On the same occasion, the man found another eagle of the same species in the wild which had produced two eggs. . Eagles offsprings will often tries to kill one another in the process of growing up by the sides of their mother. . So only one of the offspring in the two egg will survive. . To prevent this scenario from occuring, the man went on a mission to steal the eagle egg and allow Queen(which produced a sterile egg) to adopt the baby eagle by swapping the fertile and sterile egg silently. . In the end, Queen raise up the little eagle without realising that was not its offspring and prevented a worst scenario from taking place. .
I was feeling very sorry for Queen. . You could feel the innocence of her. . At the same time, also her eagerness and excitement to welcome the birth of her little baby. . It did realise anything wrong with the egg and continue to wait and wait and wait for the egg to hatch. . but it didn't. . but she still continue to wait. . A mother's love is purest and most innocent. . And who said animals do not have human qualities. . My mind was thinking. . Don't you think heaven is also also unfair sometimes. .? Some mothers are given many offsprings and they ended up killing one another, and yet some mothers are not even given one offspring where they can just live happily and in harmony. .
You know. . watching documentary may not be all about gaining more general knowledge after all. . It can be one that really brings out the sense of sympathy towards things, animals, history . .etc. .
